I bought this with a few other parts, namely the Takegawa Big Throttle Body and Fi-Con TYPE-e Injection controller.About quality and texture: The quality of the big bore high compression piston, cylnder block and camshaft is superb The piston is light weight, and there are groves for the valves on the top of the piston, which allows room for the valves during the exhaust and compression stroke.The cylnder block and sleeve is high quality, and so is the camshaft, which comes with a decompression mechanism with basically means everything is relatively easy to install.About the feeling of use: After installation and with the use of the Fi-con TYPE-e Injection controller, I could change the mapping of the ecu which then gave the engine a persceptable increase in power. The combination of the N-20 cam, big bore high compression piston and big throttle body results in a fast revving engine and perceptable increase in power and performance.Products to buy together: You need to install this big bore kit with the Fi-con TYPE-e Injection Controller made by Takegawa (which I had already installed before hand.) A big throttle body is recommended, but not compulsory. Difficulty of installation: As this invloved dismantling the top part of the engine, and I did not have the tools or skillset to do this, I got a trusted mechanic to do the installation for me. I suppose if you have the right tools and skillset, installation is possible for a experienced home mechanic.Cost performance and comparison with other products: It is difficult to compare with any other products because there aren't many other choices when it comes to big bore kits for the Kawasaki Z125 pro. At least not on Webike. Slightly expensive, yes. Nevertheless, the Takegawa kit is a satisfactory choice if you want performance, quality and ease of installation. About shipping and packaging: Shipping was fast. Packaging was, as usual from Webike and Takegawa, superb and secure.Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing: The only main concern I had was related to the Fi-con Fuel Controller, which is important (and compulsory) when installing a big bore kit. Fortunately, the Fi-con Fuel Controller has an app specifically for the z125 and it is in English. Installing an oil cooler is also advisable, to help keep the engine temps down, especially if you intend to ride on track.
Top Quality parts, but most of all well engineered to create a cohesive outcome, there are many options out there but this piston from Takegawa maintains a great combustion chamber shape with the stock head, and includes a relief for the spark plug (so no spark plug spacer required). The result is a engine that runs as good as OEM Honda but has just a bit more go everywhere. In my specific kit the piston rings were mostly ok to go out of the box, If I was being picky I'd say the top ring was a tiny bit tight and the second ring was a tiny bit loose, the oil rings were perfect. As a result I opened up the top ring from 0.009" to 0.01" only becuase its going into a CT125 which naturally runs hot vs GROM/Monkey. But I think I could have run the rings out of the box and probably had zero issues. I also like that the piston is 4 grams lighter than the stock piston, this means the motor runs very smooth with little vibration. The N-15 cam is perfect for a OEM plus feeling, I've tried a range more agressive cams and the bottom end always suffers, in my opinion that does not suit the charater of the CT125 however, this N-15 cam is perfect for the CT125 imo. I like this kit so much I'm considering buying a second to keep in stock as nothing lasts forever. View Detail
Quality of the product is exceptional. Fitment is excellent and everything goes together without any problems. All parts included are constructed or machined to very high standards visually. About quality and texture, I can confirm that the quality is great and that the materials used is a combination of aluminum and steel in the kit. About the feeling of use, This combination of the larger 143cc displacement piston and higher RPM range cam gives you the perfect amount of power for urban riding with the need for less supporting modifications then the 181cc kit. Products to buy together, A fuel controller is a necessary product to buy right away and a freeer flowing exhaust would be ideal to add to your cart to maximize performance. Difficulty of installation, I can say the fitment of the big bore kit and cam for my installation was easy due to having performed this type of job a few times now but if it is your first time it may be difficult due to understanding what needs to be done and all the tools involved, you may want to consult a mechanic. Cost performance and comparison with other products, The pricing of the product is great. You receive well manufactured and designed parts for the JB02 and JC61 models made from a high quality material and much cheaper priced then the equivalent kit made for the JB03 and JC93 models. About shipping and packaging, My order was shipped within 24 hours of the product being in stock and I received a few emails advising me of the status up until the order was dispatched. As usual, when it comes to Takegawa products, fit and finsh are top notch. When inspecting the product, you can see that it is a high quality product that was made with a lot of thought and attention to detail AND passion. After installing this lightened primary gear, the change to engine performance of my z125 pro was quite significant for such a small thing. It revved much more quickly up the rev range.Granted, I installed this item AFTER I had installed the Takegawa 138cc big bore kit. Therefore, I can be sure how much of a performance bump this would have had if the engine was stock standard. However, I believe that this upgrade is a viable option, even for a stock standard engine.Naturally, since it involved removing the side casing of the engine, I left it to a trusted mechanic. It was a relatively simple and easy job for a mechanically inclined individual.There are a few other brands that make similar products, however I choose Takegawa because it has been said that it does not produce strange noises in first gear (as compared to other brands). While I cant speak about the other brands, I can confirm that this product works perfectly and the engine does not emit strange whinging noises after installation.Shipping was quick and packaging was very well done (although probably slightly big for what it was).All in all, the product exceeded my expectations and I am very happy with this purchase.View Detail
About quality and texture: The product is made of aluminium alloy, and the plastic part is of high quality plastic.About the feeling of use: There was no real way to measure, but from what my mechanic could see, it did somewhat improve oil pressure and disribution. Products to buy together: There is no need to buy any other product as it comes with all neccesary nuts and bolts. However, this oil pump is recommended when installing an aftermarket oil cooler, especially if it is place at a higher elevation than the head (near the air box).Difficulty of installation: Obviously, since it involves opening the crank cover, you'll need to have a trainined mechanic do the installation or a the very least, mechanically adept. Cost performance and comparison with other products: It is relatively expensive when considering the simplicity of the design, but the level of build quality is apparent. So I guess you get what you pay for. Plus, there isnt any other oil pump choice aside from OEM. I bought this with a few other parts, namely the Takegawa S-Stage Big Bore Kit 138cc and Big Throttle Body.About quality and texture: The quality of the Fuel Injection controller is superb. The build quality is very high, and everything was thought out well. This includes the connection harnesses and sockets, basically meaning everything is easy to install.About the feeling of use: After installation and with the use of the app for Fi-con TYPE-e Injection controller, I could upload preloaded maps into the controller and thus change the mapping of the ecu without needing to go to a dyno. The combination of the N-20 cam, big bore high compression piston and big throttle body results in a fast revving engine and perceptible increase in power and performance. Products to buy together: The Fi-con TYPE-e Injection Controller made by Takegawa is a piggy-back type of fuel controller. It can be used as is, but a fuel controller is compulsory if you install big bore kits or even if you remove the airbox and install an open pod air filter.Difficulty of installation: Installation was easy, due to the fact that the product was well thought out and had connection sockets that fit with all required connections. You basically place it under the seat, near the ECU and hook it up to the OEM ECU via the connectors provided. The only concern I had was the instructions/directions that came with it (which were in Japanese). But due to the ease of installation, it was really just plug and play.About shipping and packaging: Shipping was fast. Packaging was, as usual from Webike and Takegawa, superb and secure.Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing: The only main concern I had was related to the Fi-con Fuel Controller software and app language, which is important (and compulsory) when installing a big bore kit. The oil cath tank comes with all necessary hoses, nuts and fittings needed to install it securely. It is designed to be easily installed beneath shroud/fairing so tha it stays hidden from view. About the feeling of use: The oil catch tank performs 2 functions; first is to collect overflow of engine oil due to high revs. Secondly, this relief of pressure also has the effect of reducing engine braking, thus allowing the engine to rev quicker and have less engine braking. This is particularly beneficial for the short 2nd gear of the z125 pro. Products to buy together: Installing this as is is possible. However, the oil tank is also designed to fit to the Takegawa Big Throttle Body kit. Difficulty of installation: As this involved dismantling the top part of the engine, and I did not have the tools or skillset to do this, I got a trusted mechanic to do the installation for me. I suppose if you have the right tools and skillset, installation is possible for a experienced home mechanic.Cost performance and comparison with other products: There are a few other choices when it comes to oil coolers for the Kawasaki Z125 pro. This is the most expensive option, yes. Nevertheless, the Takegawa oil cooler is specifically designed to bolt on to the Big Throttle Body, therefore it be suitable to install if you have that.
