Stylish aluminum air filter protection for the power filter, an essential part of the Legend Machine Yamaha TW series Ska-tune custom.
The former Kojima Planning Company, was originally commissioned to create the TW for the drama.
As a result of the realization and mixing of the cutting-edge street culture of the time and the flat "coolness" of motorcyclists, we came up with a tuning method that removes as many exterior and plastic parts of the motorcycle's engine as possible to make it look scruffy (so-called "Ska-tune").) is applied to TW.
It is a guess since there is not much information about the bike in the drama, but the popularity of TW and Ska-tune exploded after the airing when the air cleaner with rain cover of K&N was installed on TW.
Yamaha dealers were inundated with people who wanted to buy the TW every day.
Naturally, everyone asked for a Ska-tune modification, and since non Japanese K&N air cleaners were out of stock for a long time, Kijima, who was the supplier of choice, prepared a power air cleaner with a similar atmosphere to stabilize supply and demand.
However, the TW Ska-tune, which was originally planned as a motorcycle for a TV drama, unexpectedly began to experience problems due to its unexpected use in a huge explosion of popularity.
It was during the rainy season, three months after the drama aired, that the phone started ringing with calls of "The engine has stopped running" and "I'm in a hurry, what are you going to do?". That's right, Ska-tune owners started using their bikes to commute to school and work everyday.
Unlike riders who ride motorcycles for the love of riding them, the main focus is on riding the same Ska-tuned TW as the main character in the drama, so it is no wonder that they do not know that the power filter can stall if it absorbs water.
Therefore, it is necessary for the supplier to offer several air filter protections for the power filter, depending on the rider's requirements, design and application.
Focusing on air filter protection and blow-by power filters.

The results may be unsatisfactory from a strictly modern point of view, but we hope that they will bring you back to the good old days of 9: 00 p.m. on Sunday nights.
Nowadays, there are more and more people who feel that it is far from the so-called "pontification" image.
If possible, we would like you to consider this product in consultation with a store or person who is familiar with the TW Ska-tune of the time.
The Ska-tune bike is gradually becoming a legendary machine.
In the heyday of Ska-tune, many Ska-tune bikes were stalling on the side of road because of rainwater sucked into the engine through the power filter. And there are some riders who saved up enough money to buy a Ska-tuned bike as their first bike.
This air filter protection is not as good as the Kijima product No.102-902, which is available as a rain protection.
If the bike stalls on the way to work or school and the destination is close, it may be possible to pick up the bike. However, if you are going on a long touring or camping trip, or if you are going on a multi-day trip, you should take sufficient precautions against rain.
With just this part rainwater will get in and the bike will stop.
To begin with, the distance between Mishuku, Setagaya-ku and Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, where the main character in the drama lives, is within 5 km, and even if he gets stuck in the rain, he can somehow get there by pushing the bike by hand.
(The last hair salon was in Miura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, so he must have moved out of Mishuku.)
